Tuesday 19th May
We had quite a good night's sleep in the Youth Hostel and it was then my turn to cook breakfast with a little help from Fred. We managed to produce some eggs and bacon. Jilly then set off to see the north part of the island and Matt disappeared to visit another distillery and the rest of us headed south to visit the town of Portnahaven about 7 miles to the south.

Portnahaven Cove

We found a cafe and after a few cups of coffee we locked the bikes and set off for a walk around the cove which looked stunning in the sun. We managed to count nine seals in the water or sunbathing on the rocks.

After about an hour there we headed back to Port Charlotte for lunch.

After lunch at the cafe next to the Youth Hostel we walked down to Ced's campsite to say goodbye to him before he set off for Port Askaig. Just as he was leaving he discovered a puncture which delayed him a bit.

In the evening Jilly cooked a really nice Chilli and we had a bit of an early night as we had an early start the next morning to catch the 10.15 ferry from Port Askaig which was 15 miles away.
