Sunday 24th May

The nice hostel, the dodgy weather forecast and the fact that nothing opens in Harris on a Sunday made us decide to stay put. Lunch consisted of some pizzas we bought at the shop the previous day and in the afternoon when the weather was a little better we went for a walk along the coast. A chap cycled past us on a recumbent bike and we later found out from Rauri that he used to be the drummer for the Buzzcocks. The wind was howling and at times when we were high up on the cliff it was difficult to stand still, let alone walk.

We had a look around a church which contained some interesting stone carvings and then found a hotel which was open for a coffee.

When we returned to the hostel we found it full of people and all of a sudden it wasn't quite so welcoming. We had used two separate bedrooms on the previous night but now we all moved in together into a six-bed room.
